Why is my asphalt driveway or parking lot cracking?
Asphalt cracking is caused both by the freeze / thaw cycle as well as the effects of the sun and moisture. The sun oxidizes and dries out the asphalt, causing it to become brittle and rough.
Moisture is then able to enter the asphalt and reach the pavements sub base causing it to weaken and fail. Cracks form and eventually turn into potholes.
Crack Filling Process
Clean cracks of dirt, and vegetation with wire wheel, heat lance or bower blower. Install hot pour crack filler with v-type squeegee to the prepared crack.
